Dental emergency is issues related to teeth. These issues can be severe or can be normal. Bleeding gums, chipped teeth, loose teeth, facial pain or loose tooth, these are considered as general dental emergencies. In case of these emergencies, one should need to see dental expert for instant help. There is no such definition for dental emergency under medical terms. Sometimes it can be a pain to your tooth or sometimes it may not but still it can be a dental emergency.
As earlier said there is no such definition for dental emergency under medical terms. Dental Pain or Toothache
It is most severe kind of dental emergency. It is most unpleasant moment in the world while experiencing a dental pain. Dental pain is the result of tooth decay due to cavity or tissue damage in tooth.
How to deal with a dental pain? The first step is to clean your mouth with boiled/warm water. The inner of teeth needs to be clean and make sure there are no remains of food in there. If pain still remains, you better go to a dentist.
Fractured or Broken Tooth
Injury caused by fracture or accidental damage. Broken tooth is also a major kind of dental emergency. The pain is bearable or no pain or sometime it can be a mind shaking pain.
To take control over this emergency, clean out your mouth with warm water. Put something cold over affected are to overcome swelling and go to your dentist as possible.
Improper dental work and your dental filling may get loose and may fall out. Although like fractured tooth or dental pain this one is not that much painful, but still it can lead to a major harm and can affect teeth in near future. Open tooth can easily have new cavity and your tooth start deteriorating again.
In this case you immediately need to go to your dentist.
Tooth knocked out of Jaw
Knocked out tooth is a serious dental emergency. Caused by fatal injuries or accidents, knocked out tooth can cause a serious problem with a lot of pain.
You can try to put teeth back at its place. Do not try to apply force on it. If a tooth is not getting back to the socket, you immediately need to see a dentist in this problem.
Damage done to soft tissues like gums, tongue and cheeks, which result into bleeding are tissue injuries.
To take control over this condition, clean your mouth with lukewarm salt water. Take a moist piece of tea bag and apply it with pressure on bleeding affected area. Keep it there for 20-25 minutes. In case you don’t see bleeding stop, call your dentist.
